Volunteering for Pets Bring Joy

Pets Bring Joy is fueled by volunteer power, for which we are extremely grateful! Our devoted team of 150+ volunteers collectively donate over 7,500 hours of their time annually to PBJ.

Our biggest needs presently are finding people willing to help with transporting cats and kittens, greeting potential adopters at our Saturday adoption events, and feeding cats living in community cat colonies.

Transport Volunteers

Transport volunteers take cats and kittens to vet appointments, foster homes, shelters and more. Some trips are short and local, while others are a bit longer and out of the area. If you love animals and want to help by joining our transport team, please email us at info@pbj.org.

Adoption Event Team Member

Meet future pet owners, share your love for animals and answer questions about PBJ. It's that simple. We are currently seeking volunteers to help host our Saturday Adoption Events at the East Fairfax PetSmart. Events are held on Saturdays from 12-2 pm. If you are interested in volunteering for one or two events per month, please email Beth for details.

PetMAC DC Cat Care Volunteer

Our PetMAC DC adoption center often houses cats who are up for adoption, and could use help with caring for them: feeding, scooping litter boxes, and playing with them to let them know that they are loved. If you are interested in volunteering at PetMAC, please email Lori for details.

Community Cat Feeder

The PBJ Community Cat Team is seeking volunteers to help feed colony cats in the Annandale and Alexandria areas. Feeding locations are located within the following zip codes: 22304, 22311, 22312 and 22003. If you are interested in caring for local cat colonies, please email Marsha for details.
