Harmony

Poor Harmony was adopted and returned to the shelter twice due to no fault of her own.

The first time, her family had a baby after adopting her, which was too stressful for Harmony and the family to deal with, and so back to the shelter she went. :-(

The second time, the family got a puppy after Harmony was adopted ... the puppy's presence was too stressful for Harmony, and sadly she was returned to the shelter again. :-(((

We recently learned about Harmony (now 10 years old) when her third adopter, a senior citizen, could no longer care for her. A family member tried to integrate Harmony with their own two cats, but their cats were none too happy. Harmony was slated to go to the shelter yet again, but the family member reached out to PBJ to see if we could help find her a new home through our Owner Assistance Program ... and we did!

PBJ's executive director Jacquie Barker and her husband Steve personally invited Harmony into their home as a foster, and are delighted to have her as a houseguest! Harmony, now 10 years old, is slowly settling in ... she's not 100% sure yet about the Barkers' 18 year old cat Walter, but each day brings Harmony more confidence that Walter means her no harm.

Harmony is a delightful cat, and while the Barkers love her to pieces, they feel that she would be happiest as an only cat in a quiet adult-only home, where she'll quickly claim a lap as her throne. After all of the stress she's been through, she deserves a purrfect home for her golden years. :-)
